Câu hỏi: Read the following passage and mark the letter A, B, C, or D on your answer sheet to indicate the correct answer to each of the questions from 39 to 43.
The Plastiki looks similar to many other boats in Sydney harbour. It's eighteen metres long, six metres wide and it weighs about twelve thousand kilogrammes. It carries a crew of six people and has an average speed of five knots. However, once you get near to the Plastiki you realise there's a big difference. It's made of twelve thousand five hundred re-used plastic bottles.
David de Rothschild is an environmentalist who has crossed Antarctica and explored the Ecuadorian Amazon. One day he was reading some information about all the plastic in the seas and oceans. He couldn't believe what he was reading. For example, humans throw away four out of every five plastic bottles they use, and plastic rubbish causes about eighty per cent of the pollution in the sea. In addition, scientists think that around one million seabirds die every year from plastic pollution. De Rothschild decided he wanted to help fight pollution in the sea. To help more people understand the problem, he started building a boat made of plastic bottles.
As well as building the boat with recycled plastic, it was important for him to make the boat environmentally friendly and user-friendly. The boat uses renewable energy such as wind power and solar energy. The crew can make meals with vegetables from the small garden at the back of the boat. They can take a break from work and get some exercise by using the special exercise bicycle. The energy from the bike provides power for the boat's computers. And if anyone needs to take a shower, the boat's shower uses saltwater from the sea.

Câu hỏi: Read the following passage and mark the letter A, B, C or D on your answer sheet to indicate the correct answer to each of the questions.
The number of people accessing the State’s and community’s priority policies and programmes is increasing, said Minister of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs Dao Ngoc Dung. Vietnam has around 6.2 million people over the age of two with disabilities, making up 7.06 per cent of the country’s population. Of those, 28 per cent are severely disabled, 58 per cent female, 28 per cent children and 10 per cent living in poverty. Most live in rural areas and many are victims of Agent Orange.
Minister Dung said in the past, the State, the Party and Vietnamese people had paid much care to people with disabilities. Vietnam ratified the United Nations Convention on the Rights of People with Disabilities in 2014. In March this year, the country ratified the International Labour Organisation’s Convention 159 about jobs for people with disabilities. It strongly confirmed Vietnam’s commitment to ensuring the disabled would not be discriminated against at work.
Last month, the Secretariat Committee issued Instruction 39 about the Party’s leading work on affairs related to people with disabilities . The National Assembly later ratified the amended Law on Labour with many adjustments relating to disabled people. Dung said that every year, millions of disabled people receive an allowance from the State and all provinces and cities had rehabilitation centres. Attending the event, Truong Thi Mai, head of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Mass Mobilisation, said besides the achievements, Vietnam still sees many obstacles. Infrastructure is still limited in demand for people with disabilities and many life below the poverty line depending heavily on their families.
Mai asked organisations to improve education to raise people’s awareness of the meaning of supportive work to people with disabilities. This year, more than VNĐ17 trillion (US$735.4 million) from the State budget was allocated to provinces and cities to implement policies for people with disabilities, according to the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs.
The Ministry of Planning and Investment on Thursday launched the programme “White stick for Vietnamese visual impaired people”. Its aim is to present one million white sticks to visually impaired people across the country. Training to use the device will also be provided. Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung said the ministry will listen to disabled people’s demands and wishes and put them into its policies. Deputy chairwoman of the National Assembly Tong Thi Phong said Vietnam has committed to developing socio-economy, taking care of social equality and improving social management ability.

Câu hỏi: Read the following passage and mark the letter A, B, C, or D on your answer sheet to indicate the correct answer to each of the questions from 39 to 43.
Staying in hotels and resorts has been a traditional part of travel since the beginning of mass tourism. But nowadays, many tourists want a more intimate experience. For this reason, they are choosing to “go native”. This often means staying in the kinds of places that local people inhabit. In big cities, you can try staying with the friend of a friend. You may end up sleeping on the couch or the floor, but the advantages outweigh the discomfort. The biggest plus is that you’ll be staying with a local and seeing the city from a local perspective.
Another option is house-swapping. Several websites allow you to connect with people who want to trade living situations. It’s usual to exchange emails about favorite places in the city before the swap, meaning you can have a truly local experience. But of course, you can only do this if you don’t mind having strangers staying in your house.
For the more adventurous, staying in a native structure in an African village or a hut on the water in Vietnam or Thailand can be a real thrill. These might not even include plumbing or electricity, and that is part of the charm. The experience of dealing with oil lamps and carrying water really gives you a sense of how the people live.
No matter how unadventurous you feel, you might want to consider crossing hotels off your list. Getting to know the local way of life is most valuable part of travel. And what better way is there to do this than staying where the local people actually live?

What is the passage mainly about?

  • Adventurous holiday activities

  • Main tourist attractions in Asia

  • New holiday accommodation trend

  • World heritage sites
